Getting started journaling is something that often creates overwhelm. We know we should start, we know it would be good for us, but we just can’t picture it!

Maybe we’re afraid that the journal we love so much will be ruined, or maybe it just doesn’t feel natural and we’re scared to try to find our voice. Maybe we know ourselves well enough to predict that this is another habit we’ll fail to establish. Whatever the reason(s), you’re not sure where to start, and so you never do.

I say, forget about the bad “maybe” excuses, and make up some good “maybe” reasons to start. And then don’t make it bigger than it needs to be.

Print out a few copies, choose a time and place to make it part of your daily routine, and try it out for the next few days. If it doesn’t feel like you, choose a different page to print out a few times and try the next style.
